I think it'd make more people's heads explode on the premise that intelligence is purely genetic, as opposed to a result of education and upbringing.

Just tell them it's "why we need to spend more money on scholastic and social education, as well as funding for the arts" and even the twitchiest SJW would be happy.

IQ is genetic, but that doesn't mean that people can't learn or gain knowledge through education

True, but their problem isn't really low IQ. It's things like, say, thinking that plants need gatorade because "it's got electrolytes" and that's just a lack of education.

IQ is influenced by genetics, but it's also influenced by a host of environmental factors.

lol no. Psychologist here: IQ has approximately a 63% correlation between non-twin siblings and a 43% correlation from parent to child. Whatever portion of intellect is heritable isn't actually very large in the scheme of things. Environmental factors (pre and post natal) including diet, toxin exposure, stress, and education level influence a person's IQ much more than most people realize.

More than that, IQ score is not static. Your personal score on an IQ test could drop an entire devation due to stress or lack of sleep.

I didn't think it implied that the issue was only genetic? It's been a few years since I saw it, but I remember there was a lot about media dumbing shit down, etc.
