I had a friend like that, that I called my wife and everything. We even told each other if we were in the same state we would date. Then she started seeing a more local friend of hers, and her new gf was uncomfortable with how close we were to each other.

We didn't talk hardly at all for two years because of that. It hurt like hell. We are talking again, very irregularly. I miss her. I miss my wife. Her friendship alone was exquisite to have, and agonizing to lose. She and her gf have been together for a long time now. And I've gotten to know her gf a little. She's great, she really is. I don't know if that makes it hurt less or not.
