It's pretty great.

The British military were totally chicken shit a few years ago, when they went 'well there's no decent reason to keep women out and we'll (last second decision just before policy was expected to change) oh unit cohesion and stuff? We'll re-evaluate in ten years'.

Biggest thing is probably the promotion opportunities this opens up for women. Not serving in certain units really hurts your long term career goals.
