This has been all over my facbook page, mostly because a large part of my extended family and odd amount of friends serve or have served in the American military, a lot of them women. My bff replied with something along the lines of "nice that they're acknowledging it" since women have been in combat areas for awhile even though it's technically been against regs.

It think it's pretty sad that it's taken this long for the ban to lift. We're a pretty puritan country in a lot of ways.
