Snerk. My immediate thought was, is OP fat? It sucks industrial strength, but that's the most likely reason why shallow people don't care how good their makeup and costumes are. Either that, or OP is wrong about how good their makeup and costumes are, and really they are terrible.

This was my first thought too. I in no way hold it against the OP if she is fat for I'm one of those people who looks at the costumes, not what kind of body the person has, but unfortunately most people aren't like that and will judge/ignore you if you are not hot.

I'm fat and the few times I ever cosplayed I always had my picture taken, and it didn't matter the quality of my costume either because I've had amazing costumes done by other people and I've had really shit costumes I threw together myself. I don't consider myself pretty either but I've had fanboys crush on me in costume.

I seriously don't know why OP wouldn't ever get their picture taken, not everyone gets a whole lot of attention at conventions but most people get their picture taken at least once? I don't know.
