If you're really worried, which it sounds like you are, and you have the funds available - it might be worth doing something like seeing a GP or educational psycologist.

Any other 'symptoms', of things you just aren't as good at, or set you outside the normal range from other people? Because one possibility jumps to mind, but I don't really want to play internet MD here.

Uhm, I can't look people's eyes when we talk? I'm shy but I dunno what else about the normal range I have.

(I want to knooooow, I'm majoring in Psychology actually, and now I'll go crazy trying to figure it out - pun intended-)

A lot of the memory and processing issues you mentioned sounded familiar, and I ended up being diagnosed with dyspraxia.
