They have their share of fans.

But, imo, the extra dialogue in the US airing clarified that Edith didn't really love ANTHONY. She loved the idea of having a purpose in her life. She'd feel useful as Anthony's wife and that was what she was really in love with- not Anthony himself.

Glad i only saw the UK version, then.

They actually left that in the US airing? I thought it was a deleted scene!

Glad I saw the UK version then.

They've been adding small extra scenes and extra bits of dialogue to the US airings to pad it out a bit since the US has some more time to fill.

And imo, Edith seeing Anthony as a project was something that could have been extrapolated from the UK airing. The extra scene in the US viewing just made it more obvious.

Huh. This actually makes me feel better about him calling it off now.

You wouldn't happen to know if someone's got a compilation of all the extra US scenes, would you? All I've got are the UK versions, and I'm not that into the show to both find a US download and then rewatch everything for maybe a 30 second clip here and there.

Same. The extra dialogue made me feel like it was clear that it was for the best that the marriage didn't happen, but obvs he should have called it off before like... the altar.

IDK about video, but this is a list for the extra scenes/dialogue:

3x01 & 3x02 were aired together in the US and there was no extra dialogue

Thanks! Even just the dialogue is fine. It's getting late so I can't go through all of them now, but I filtered through to that one Edith/Anthony scene that was mentioned and yikes! I thought she would've said that to a random person, not to his face. Frankly I don't what I'd think if someone referred to me as their "life's work". I can definitely see where the cold feet came from now, although - as you mentioned - he still shouldn't have waited until they were at the altar.
