Selective reading is not your friend. "Everyone" says no such thing. Because, inter a great many alia, if you read ALL the stories, Watson holds his own more than you seem to think.
But if you honestly think their story is in any way comparable to Meyer's repellent dreck, please keep away from our fandom.

Being squicked or triggered by an unhealthy relationship doesn't make one an idiot with no understanding of context.

You sound like the idiots who argue there's nothing wrong with Dany/Drogo just because it was the way things were in the time it's set. It's perfectly possible to understand that something is acceptable in a historical context, and still not enjoy it.

NOT that I'm trying to directly compare the two relationships, of course- obviously Holmes is nothing like Drogo- just the attitude of the defenders of creepy old-timey ships.

No idea who Danny and Drogo are.

I'm not at all trying to say that 'it's OK because of the time it's set' - though some people here have clearly misunderstand the language used. I'm trying to say that it's not "unhealthy" to the extent that the Edward/Bella one clearly is. Holmes can be very difficult, but Watson is not a doormat; people need to read all the source material.

Dany and Drogo are characters from A Song of Ice and Fire. Danerys Targaryan and Khal Drogo of the Dothraki. The Dothraki are a nomadic warrior race, and Dany, at 13, is married off to Drogo to bring his warriors into alliance with her brother, Viserys.

She initially objected, because, well...13 years old and married off to an older man (from a culture very alien to the ones she was familiar with) against her will to serve the ambitions of her brother. But she eventually came to love Drogo (who, unlike Viserys, treated her well, despite the rather violent aspects of Dothraki culture - Dany's just about the only non-Dothraki woman encountered during those sections of the first book or two who isn't raped), and adapted to the Dothraki life. It's an interesting relationship (actually, one of the better ones in ASOIAF, as it's not abusive, incestuous, or both, and eventually grows beyond the political desires that created it).

Yes, a PEDOPHILIC relationship that started with forced sex that turned into Rape Is Love is not abusive at all and so much better than the other ones.

Anonymous does not know what 'pedophilic' or 'rape' mean.

Oh please, cut the bullshit, you know that a man over thirty having a boner for a thirteen year old child and fucking her is pedophilia and rape.

Ah, ok, thanks for context. My son has loaned me those books but I haven't got round to reading them yet.
