That entire series I was just begging for a kiss or love declaration. And the ending just killed me inside. So yes, I agree, I too would enjoy a happy girlfriend AU.

I know your pain, I have that with about 90% of all my ships, including Homura/Madoka. But those two give me a special pain, since Homura did so freaking much for Madoka... I liked the ending, but ;_; forever.

I'm just happy that there was a scene where Madoka finally becomes aware of all the shit Homura has gone through for her and she's like "Who knew all this time I had such a dear friend" and Homura is just she just cries because there's been so much pain and finally Madoka remembers her and I CAN'T IT'S TOO BEAUTIFUL ASDFGHJKLHJ

If they only looked like they were old enough to be IN a relationship, then yeah, I would probably agree. But even if they're like... what, 12? (Which is still pretty young, but not by anime standards)... they look like they're about the right age to drink out of sippy cups so that's just gross.

I agree that I wanted them to be happy, but I kinda liked the bittersweet ending too.

Also, that art is absolutely adorable! It looks like official art, but I'm not sure. Could someone post the original image so I can save it to my PMMM collection?

Doesn't it outright imply that they'll meet again at the end of the manga adaptation? If I remember, at least.

Also there's the upcoming movie, and no doubt Madoka will be back for that...

I like Madoka/Homura AUs but post-series, I lean towards Homura/Mami. It would be lovely to see Madoka and Homura reunite, but I'd also like to see Homura make new friends and have meaningful relationships with other people while keeping a special place for Madoka in her heart.
