Can't say for recs, but if you're into DS9 they did a delicious one (holosuite, but still) - "Our Man Bashir," Season 4 ep. 10.

(It was the first thing I thought of when I saw this secret)

Oh yeah, I remember Bashir's Bond holodeck adventures! Didn't he flood the world once, to save it from something bad? Ah, such memories!! (Actually, the ending of that particular ep had a big influence on me.)

See, now you've got me wondering. Does it have to be an AU? Are you into het fic for actual spy related fandoms?

For some reason, that's become the genre where I am LEAST interested in het.

I'm blaming Clint/Coulson on this one. I mean, my antipathy toward Clint/Natasha is mostly that I love the idea of platonic m/f bffs, especially in a high stree job that typically (in movies) leads to sexing. But it's also just...I expect the spies to be handy with the opposite sex. But reading about two secret agent/assassin guys...I dunno, that just works for me. I'd like to see something like that happen in more fiction.

I agree with you, and I think it I can blame the exact same reason...
