I've heard the new RE is really not up to standard, which is a tremendous shame.

That series used to be so incredible, and I guess RE4 was a good lateral move to breath fresh air into the series, but it just lost what made it so effective.

Hoping that next gen they finally get around to doing the long rumoured REmake of 2.

I haven't played 6 yet, but I definitely found 5 to not be up to standard, which definitely is a shame because it was one of my all time favourite console series.

A remake of 2 would be an instant pre-order from this fan.

RE6 is pretty terrible, and I say this as someone who has sunk a lot of hours into it. I like the Mercenaries mode a lot, but the campaigns are incredibly tedious. The only worthwhile moments involve one genuinely creepy monster (that ends up being less creepy because it shows up in every campaign with its own cinematic--scary the first time, annoying by the third time) and one section of Ada's campaign.
