No, I'm like that too. I think people just ship for different reasons? Some people do it (subconsciously or not) to fill a void in their romantic lives, so if they're in a relationship, their interest in fictional relationships disappears. But not everyone ships for that reason. For me, romance just provides another situation to explore character dynamics, and it remains interesting whether I'm in a relationship or not. I don't know, I've never really been one to get super invested in a pairing, so although I do ship lots of stuff, I don't feel like I'm pouring myself into those relationships or that I'm getting anything out of it beyond entertainment. But everyone's different!

This. I ship because I love the character dynamics and getting to see the characters I love interact in ways they cannot onscreen. It isn't to fill a romantic void in my life or anything. And also, I wouldn't consider myself to really have OTPs either. So maybe that is related? I'm not really hard core shipping, just exploring character dynamics? IDK.

Yeah, same. :) It's really fun, seeing how all the character dynamics change depending on pairings and whatnot. Shipping is just another way at looking how characters interact and change with one another.

It's probably not an uncommon way to ship, even if large amounts of people focus on OTPs and such.
