I think it depends on the stage of the relationship you are in. I'm married for coming up on 23 years, do I ship? Oh do I ever. And so it's been for pretty much the entire 23 years.

But take me back to the first few months of dating my husband-to-be, and I pretty much shut down everything that wasn't me/him. I spent pretty much every minute I could with him. I can't imagine being interested in fictional relationships when my own was so obsessively interesting to me.
