(Anonymous) 2013-02-02 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
When was the last time you read decent porn written by anyone MAAB?

[personal profile] kallanda_lee 2013-02-02 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
Fairly recently, actually. Though he's gay, so maybe you make up other rules for that, too.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-02 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
lol so butthurt on behalf of cis dudes

Anyone Who Defends Anyone is Butthurt. Defense of People is not Allowed on teh Interwebs.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-02 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
Defending the dominant group against the dreaded charge of not being able to write porn very well is sort of butthurt, yes.

And even if it isn't, it's still amusing.

LOL, who's butthurt? It's hilarious that you consider the fact that I wank to porn made by guys as "defending" or some major statement.

I like porn. Some men are good at it. Some men suck at it. Much like women.

You don't have magical porn-writing skill just because you were born with ovaries.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-02 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
You're right, I'm sorry. I don't think you sound defensive at all.

She doesn't.

*You* sound like a jerk though.

Generalizations tend to be both false and inflammatory, regardless whether they're applied to a dominant group or not. Furthermore, the implication that it's okay to malign individuals belonging to a dominant group, and that it's a sign of being "butthurt" for one to defend such individuals, is a bit problematic. Either distinctions between people don't matter, or they do.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-02 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
1. Distinctions between people obviously do matter. 'We're all the saaaaaame' is a nice starting point but it's not the whole story.

2. My generalisation was inflammatory but it was also 100% fact, which is - as you know - the best legal defence against a charge of defamation.

3. For someone who isn't butthurt, you sound pretty butthurt.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-02 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
4. You're not very funny.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-02 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
This is, in my defence, also biologically determined. :(

1. While they do matter given current constructs, I think it's important to strive for a future and society where they do not matter. Otherwise, the fight for justice and equality will necessarily be fruitless.

2. In that case, would you agree that Arab Muslims can justifiably be considered to be likely terrorists? Most terrorists in recent memory have been Arab Muslims, after all, so by your logic, that generalization is fact. In other words: that "defense" may work, but it is neither good nor correct.

3. I am butthurt only in the sense that I disagree with you. My personal feeling is that disagreement is not the same as butthurt, but YMMV.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-02 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
You're sticking trans men and women into their own classified gender, which many (if not most) do not want. For you, it's "Once a man, now a transwoman", for many it is "Always a woman".

(Anonymous) 2013-02-02 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
lol butthurt tranz

also don't think nobody noticed that "maab" suddenly transmogrified into "cis dudes" in your dumb line of reasoning, asshole

(Anonymous) 2013-02-03 04:28 am (UTC)(link)

My favorite writer of M/F fanfic (which is hot) is a gay man, MAAB.

And we've met IRL, so I can verify.

My cisgender, 1-on-the-Kinsey-scale boyfriend writes pretty awesome porn, actually. And, yeah, I'm biased, but I also know how to tell "things I love" from "things other people might love".

I wish I could post a link or something, but he doesn't publish it online... sorry about that >_>

Oh, also, Neil Gaiman.

(Neil Gaiman is the answer to everythiiiing)

(Anonymous) 2013-02-02 12:08 pm (UTC)(link)
He writes porn? Where can I find it?
rapunzelita: (Default)

[personal profile] rapunzelita 2013-02-02 12:12 pm (UTC)(link)
There is a substantial amount of sex scenes in American Gods, and a good chunk of Smoke & Mirrors contains porny short stories.

(Disclaimer: some of those are horrosr-ish stories, and so, they have real good porn in them, but they're also kinda scary/disturbing.)

Oh, and Stardust has a very nice sex scene at the beginning, though it's not super long or detailed, so I don't know whether it counts as porn.

Same. My boyfriend is white, straight, cisgendered, and American, and he writes better porn than I've seen almost anywhere on the Internet.
