Also, I just really enjoy animation. I wish more people would

Same! So many folks don't understand that on top of doing things like lighting, acting, voicework, scripts, ect, these things have to be drawn, rendered and smoothed, or sculpted and moved inch by inch, and when you scrap a segment, you've got to replace it with more than just a reshoot - you've got to use some hours of manpower.

I'm not trying to dismiss live action - it's not bad, and it's not going away. But I wish people could see that animation can cover any genre and not just fantasy or kid's stuff, and that it's just as hard work.

Add to that that animation allows you more leeway with certain effects. Things like people flying, for example, are easier to achieve with regularity in animation, while liveaction shows would have to structure around physical effects or CGI. Things that would require massive effects budgets in liveaction can be handled more easily and more regularly in animation (most of the examples in my head are superhero related, but fantasy and science-fiction cartoons probably also have similar benefits).

I don't mean the effects are necessarily better, that depends on the animation budget, but I think they're more regular in cartoons. As in, you're more likely to see a character casually flying or throwing a fireball or riding a dragon in a cartoon than you are in liveaction, yes?
