Tolkien's characters really do have the best names if you dig through the appendices, backstories and HOME books, though. Not only do we have Gloin son of Groin, but I still remember how happy I was the day I discovered that Celeborn's name in the original Telerin language is Teleporno. That pretty much made my entire year (and explains why Galadriel married him, too)
