(Anonymous) 2013-02-02 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)Howl is more complicated, because the animated film isn't really a direct adaptation of the book. They went in two different directions, with the movie going more into the state involvements and the duties of power, while the book was more personal growth and the personal responsibilities of power. Similar, but not really the same, I think.

Ha, "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" was the one I watched. Fun yet mighty silly, that was my first impression. But then again, Marvel Cinematic Universe does not exactly shine with masterly plot moves either. [also Hank always annoys the hell out of me. He's worse than the Wolverine]
What, in your opinion, was more complex in the cartoon?..

(Anonymous) 2013-02-02 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)The A:EMH treatment of the Bruce/Hulk issue was quite a bit darker and more complicated than the MCU one, is the main example that's coming to mind. I mean, the cartoon is most definitely fun and silly a lot of the time, but there are flashes of darkness in it.
