One of the things I like about Doctor Who is that actually the protagonist DOESN'T always live. He;s died 10 times, in fact. So there's always the suspicious that 'Maybe this time he won't make it! D:"

Like Daniel in SG-1. He does die, it's just that he always comes back (except for that time he didn't but then he did so nvm)

But in Doctor Who, he usually gets either some kind of special or meaningful death, or a completely meaningless death (*ahem* Six and Seven). With the exception of Four, he doesn't just get killed by the standard danger levels that generally kill one-off characters by the boatload in every episode.

(I'm crossing my fingers that Eleven will simply get fatally shot or stabbed by some mook while rescuing somebody in his final episode, instead of something ~epic~ like Nine and Ten. Sometimes, less is more.)

And oh, are Daniel Jackson jokes still in vogue? :D Not that I'll stop making Daniel Jackson jokes 'til the day I drop, but I'm glad to find other people who do the same ;)

Hey, Eight got shot by a petty crook...and WOULD have survived except for the surgeon bungling the procedure due to the patient having two hearts. XD

I don't know if they're in vogue, but SG-1 is my first, best destiny fandom, so it's always relevant to meeeeee

Actually, what I was thinking of was Eureka, I now recall. They had a huge paradigm shift and then DESTROYED THE RESET BUTTON, so now every time it seems like there's gonna be a huge change I totally buy it.

That's Seven. We don't know how Eight "died".

That was Seven.

You know, it's lines like this that make me grin like mad and remember just why I loved SG-1 so much <3

Since changes in Doctor are usually announced way in advance and the Doctor's last episode is always hyped, it would be pretty hard to sneak a regeneration in there without the fans knowing. In other words, we probably won't ever see a "Surprise! The Doctor just died and regenerated!" ep.
