(Anonymous) 2013-02-03 02:26 am (UTC)(link)Where else can you find a cartoon show where the hero has to face a future villain of himself that is willing to destroy his own loved ones just so he can continue to exist.
Danny Phantom did it and imo they did it very nicely. Also Kindred Spirits, the clone one. I was surprised to see how they had a clone character that was actually treated more realistically than most cartoons. Dani had a mind of her own and was actually treated like a living thing, a child having her own needs, rather than just a mindless robot copy. I haven't seen many other cartoons that approached clone characters with as much thought.
YMMV of course because a portion of other fans hated her and thought she was a girl copy of Danny. But hey, I just thought she was very well thought out. Later on the writer who wrote her episode was fired over creative differences and the show had to wrap up quickly with one more season, so they did do what was intended/planned with her. (and borked up some other character development in the process,)
