I like Martin Freeman, but deciding that he has to be fine because his partner says so... erm, what is she going to say? 'Oh, sure, he's a big old racist homophobe, what's the matter with that?'

But it's not just because his partner says so. Everyone who knows him that has commented on him says so, and there's plenty of evidence from his own actions and words as well. For instance, he participated in one of Mark Gatiss's talks which support the LGBT community, and in an interview with the Guardian talked about how prejudice people still are. He also lived in some of the most multicultural areas of London for many years until the BNP were elected, a party which is against multiculturalism. I would've gone into more detail in my secret, but it was already pretty long.

Amanda Abbington is very liberal, a big supporter of gay rights and multiculturalism, so I trust her judgment. From what I know about Martin he's the same.

Mark Gatiss works continually with both Moffatt and Stephen Fry, so I won't take anything he says at face value. You work with open misogynists, I'm not going to trust you vouching someone else.

What? Mark Gatiss didn't say anything. It's the fact that he has a Q&A thing he set up to support the LGBT community, and Martin participated in it.

Moffat was getting death threats and seeing as how he's obviously a friend of the Sherlock cast, she responded, yes.
