That's why, from even the bits and pieces I've read, what bugs me most about Twilight isn't all the terrible "romance" stuff, it's how she treats her father and how she feels perfectly justified being horrible to him.

I can boil down the 1st person intimacy difficulty to one sentence: if my reaction is, I hate being in your head, I'm outta there. Third person doesn't risk that. So I return to saying that I think selling 1st person is even more challenging than 3rd person.
