My favorite ongoing longfic is One of Our Submarines (http://archiveofourown.org/series/23579), an AU in which Sollux discovers a secret network of Helmsmen after being conscripted as one, while the other trolls are trying to stage a revolution planetside. (Take heed of the body horror warning.)
