Eh? I've never really thought about it, you just walk in remove your shoes at the same time as you take of your jacket and put both things in its proper place, it doesn't take much longer than just removing your jacket (which I assume you do too when you walk into your home?).

If it is too crowded you just wait a moment before stepping inside, it is no biggie. My dad's house got all of 1 meter times 2 meters of place for jackets and shoes right inside our front door, and as a family of four when we all come and go we just take turns.

Usually not everyone walks in our out at the exact same time even if we are coming/going together. One might be getting stuff from the booth of the car, while another is getting the mail and the third is unlocking the door, leaving the fourth to go into the hallway to take of jacket/shoes before the "keyholder" does the same and so on. (and other way around if we are leaving to somewhere)
