(Anonymous) 2013-02-05 07:28 am (UTC)(link)With that said, I agree it's not for everybody, as it's very much a different show in terms of tone and in some ways, in terms of characterization. I was just forced to become its biggest defender because of all the misogynist fuckwits that surfaced right after it came out.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-05 01:11 pm (UTC)(link)They clearly didn't. They didn't even plan to make A2A at first. In fact, if you try to apply A2A canon it terms of who the characters are, their role in general universe (like, you know, Nelson) to LoM, it just becomes confusing. Not to mention, I don't find that giving answers to something that's not meant to be answered is a good idea per se, especially if your answers are radical. And A2A answers are VERY radical.
I get what you're saying, the ending of A2A expands the universe of it's predecessor and changes the perspective on a lot of things happening in it. I just don't believe it's doing so in a way that complements LoM.
(There's also a small matter of the very-very last scene which underlines the significance of BOTH main protagonists, whichever's your favorite, and pisses me, personally, off.)
Oh, and, there was a misogynistic movement in fandom?! Really? Wow, that's... just wow.
