Most houses have like a hall where you leave your coats and shoes? Ours is relatively cramped, and there were 5 people living here ate maximum capacity, and it was never a huge issue. I mean when I was a kid, they took off my shoes off first, sent me in, and removed their own. Now you just sort of wait two seconds so the person in front of you can remove their shoes.
