Yeah, I know the Isley Brothers have been around for ages before the eighties. Though I won't lie, I was shocked when I found out at a pub quiz that they originally sang 'Twist and Shout.'

some author got it in my head that Chris Argent liked dark new wave music in the 80s and now I have to have some straight up Bauhaus and Depeche Mode shit going on when I read anything Chris (especially since that same author titles quite a few fics using variations on lyrics from new wave singers like Peter Murphy and Siouxsie and the Banshees).
