I have been extremely depressed lately. I don't think I am -actively- suicidal. I think about it but I don't think I would go through with it. But if someone put a gun to my head and said they were going to shoot me I would be relieved.

And the thing is, I don't have too bad of a life. I am unemployed by my mother has let me move back in with her until I can find a job. I'd like to talk about it with someone but I feel as if I would just be whining or looking for attention.

Being depressed even when your life is comparatively okay is okay. Depression is a mental illness. It is not a personal or moral failing.

I think it would be a good idea if you talked with someone? I don't know if going to a therapist would be possible for you, but if it would, I'd recommend it...

And it's okay to need attention sometimes. We all need attention sometimes!

Anyway. I'm sorry that you feel that way, and I wish there was something I could do to help...

Not having a bad life is actually one of those things that separates depression as a mood and depression as a disorder. That is exactly one of those things that a proper therapist would take into account when helping you with your problems.

And for fucks sake, when did our world make it so bad to look for a bit of attention. Humans are social creatures by nature. Sometimes we need someone to listen to our problems for a bit, and as long as we aren't forcing it upon someone, there is nothing wrong with that drive.
