I'm trying really hard and I don't think I'll ever get a job that makes use of my zoology degree. I hardly ever make it to the interview stage and I feel so worthless when people ask me how the job hunting is going when I'm in my third year since graduation(I work in a call center right now)

I was angling for something in pest management or quarantine but I can't even get a farm hand position

Go for a government job, nonny! You might have to start with unpaid or low-paid internship / contract positions, but every state / province / territory should have an Environment Ministry or Conservation Department.

I've tried a few government positions because getting into the public service is my (lame) dream, but I've had no luck :( I've no idea how my friends got into it when they're only using it as a support-themselves-while-studying

Ask your friends then. That'd be step one, they might know something (or someone) you don't.

omg, this frightens me--if an entomologist can't get a job, who the hell can?
