Speaker implies, listener infers. The speaker, in this case, is the choice, therefore it implies. Had I wrote the sentence from the POV of the OP then it would be infer. "The OP infers that the choice in-game to be mean to Whatsherface is indicative of a player's views, re: violence against women." But that's just too much sentence.
