I think most of the SWTOR romances might be ... less than optimal, tbh. My smuggler is already feeling smothered by Corse and we're only level 19 ( and from what I hear he gets stalkery and very possessive later). Aric? Not going there, he seems like he'd be evern more of a control freak. Even Mako - who I generally really like, and as a LS BH I'm over 8000/10,000 already at level 17 - has tossed off some stupendously insipid comments now and again when I gain points.
*shrug* more proof that YMMV, I guess.
(My hardcore opinion? Stick to [Flirt] options. Allow flirting to be tossed at whomever the PC wishes (Nem'ro's twi'lek secretary, forex: she already makes adorably flirty comments to both genders. My female Chiss completely wanted to date her. :p)

I've run three Sith Warriors, one for each mortality alignment: Light, Dark, and neutral. If you leave Vette's shock collar on (as my Dark Side Warrior did) then she eventually becomes "desensitized" to it and no longer feels pain when the Warrior tries to shock her. She has little moment where she just stares the Warrior down and goes, "Yeah, that's not going to work on me any more." It's a GIANT "fuck you" moment to the Dark Side Warrior and I absolutely loved it. Rock on, Vette!

(Though .... I can also see that it's very easy for that to be seen by some as sending a message that "yeah, if you keep beating a woman long enough she gets used to it." Granted, not everyone who plays will take it that way, but to deny that there are those that WON'T is naive as well.)

And I'll admit that Corso grew on me, especially because as a female smuggler, you always have the option to be like "Dude, do I LOOK like I need a white knight? Shut up." and at least from what I remember (and this is like... a year ago, so I could be wrong), he eventually comes around and is like, "You know, you're right and I'm sorry. I'm old-fashioned, but I can see that you can take care of yourself and that's really admirable."
BUT that was a long time ago so I could be wrong. And I'm still bummed that my female characters can't romance any of the female companions. They're far more interesting than the male companions imo :|

But yeah, I'm already grumbly that my female smuggler can't flirt with Risha (even though, to my subtext-corrupted ears, a good number of her lines provide openings. :p)
Andronikus is the second Inquisitor companion, yes? If so--heh, that'll be a nice change from Khem Val and his MUST CRUSH ALL PUNY FORCE USERS NAO INCLUDING YOU TINY SITH.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-07 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)I personally like him as I find him pretty adorable, if a bit overbaring. I think it also depends on how you personally play your smuggler character too as to how well they mesh.
Also, when you get to Balmora there is an NPC to flirt with and if you carry on the flirts when Corso is with you he gets really flustered, it's mean but it's quite amusing.

OT: any interest I might have had in Aric was well adn completely squashed when my spawn pointed out to me that he's voiced by the guy who does Lassiter on Psych.
