eh, i can see how this applies to what i said yesterday about not wanting to confront my roommate. most folks who are genuinely ill are not using it as an excuse, it's a causal element to how they interact with the world. being ill, it's not always as easy as saying "i'm gonna work to get over this." some people never get better, often through no fault of their own. mental illness can be a really tricky thing. in my case, i've gotten much better over the years, but i still have a long ways to go. having been affected so young, i have to work towards bettering myself as a person now while also "unlearning" all the negativity that shaped my childhood and reinforced my afflictions.

i feel you to a degree, though. i had hella anxiety many years ago. i mean i still have it but it's slowly going away. many people with anxiety have the same potential, it's just a lot of effort to take that first step and then keep at it.
