(Anonymous) 2013-02-07 04:05 am (UTC)(link)I want to feel happy with my body too! That's why I'm getting surgery, so I can have a body I'm comfortable with. The patriarchy doesn't tell me to get surgery. That would be ridiculous. No, I have never been comfortable with my chest. Long, long before I was even aware that being transgender was a thing, that it was even possible that I could be a gender that wasn't what I was assigned at birth - I hated my chest. I wanted to get rid of it. Not in order to pass better as a man, but just because I have always been intensely unhappy with it.
There's nothing wrong with changing your body to be something you're happier with.
