Luna (a.k.a. Nightmare Moon) is the Princess of the Night and sister to Celestia, Princess of the Day (roughly speaking). The only other known/named alicorn princess is Cadence.

Twilight Sparkle's just a regular unicorn pony who happens to be good at magic.

A) Not all people want to get married, I assume this applies to ponies as well.

B) Princess Celestia and Princess Luna are not married. Only Cadence has gotten married so far. It's obviously not "required" of them.
