That is because when you meet a person there is a MUCh greater chance that they will be straight. Unless you are in a gay bar.

Statistically, yes, but it's still rather rude to actually be surprised that somebody is gay. Statistically speaking, some of the people you meet are going to be gay, so it's rather ignorant to assume that everybody you meet is going to be straight. Just because you're right 9 out of 10 times doesn't mean it's not a problematic assumption to make.

But, unless you ask everyone you meet what their sexuality is, it is safer and easier just to assume they are straight. And the most recent studies indicate that only about %5 of the population is gay, so you have a pretty good chance of being right.

And no, you shouldn't be surprised. But unless you tell someone you are gay, you shouldn't be mad that they don't automatically assume you are.

I laughed so hard at that. I can just imagine that little Kirby emote flipping a table.

But why do you have to assume anything? Some assumptions are justified, sure, but what the hell does who I'm banging have to do with anything? Why do you need to assume anything about my sexual preference? This is what I'm most confused about, that the assumption needs to be made in the first place. What's so damn hard about saying, "I don't know"?

Sure, but people can teach themselves to think "Hey, maybe this person isn't straight. I probably shouldn't make assumptions and just get to know them as a person."

Or do what I do and just label them at random. "Straight. Gay. Has a weird and conflicting crush on her roommate. Ghost type. Openly bi, not so open about the watersports.", etc. Honestly, people who assume everyone is straight must be so boring.

Everyone loves watersports, don't they? It just seems hard to believe there are people out there who don't like getting a little wet outside the shower once in a while. I don't see why loving watersports would be something you'd keep secret.

His first time was just really awkward and he doesn't want to talk about it. He'll learn to face his problems eventually. Maybe.

I don't enjoy smelling like piss :(
