I don't really see Gondor and Rohan needing a marriage to solidify their place as allies after they fought against Mordor together. Plus you know, Aragorn, Eowyn, Faramir and Éomer are kind of friends. Am I being too optimistic? Maybe.

Also Eowyn x Faramir 5ever!

Also, Faramir and Eowyn marrying each other also serves to firm up the alliance fairly well. I mean, Faramir is still an important noble of Gondor, even if he's not actually the ruler.

Plus the bit the movies left out completely, Éomer married the daughter of Imrahil, a lord from Dol Amroth in Southern Gondor. If alliances needed to be made via marriage, plenty were made through his and his sister's marriages anyway.

The bit people seem to forget is that Aragorn marrying Arwen meant his family had an extra dose of the elven bloodline that descends from a Maia - a fragging goddess.
