(Anonymous) 2013-02-11 12:30 am (UTC)(link)And if subtitled anime fans should stop being so "snobby", then why do people get their panties in a bunch if others call Dub Fans ridiculous for their complaints of "READING SUBTITLES IS TOO HARD!", or "VIC MIGNOGNA HAS THE SEXIEST VOICE OF ALL TIME OMGGG!!!"? I may not agree with those things, myself, but everyone has different tastes. I don't think fans who like the original Japanese tracks should be looked down upon for that.
There ARE good dubs out there, and there are times I prefer a dub cast to the original, but it's few and far-between. If more people bought anime in America to support the industry, maybe more actors would be willing to do anime and widen the variety a little more. Anime dubbing is basically the bottom of the barrel for actors, so you don't see many of them clamoring to audition for it. If there was a higher demand, maybe we'd get a better grade of actors doing it, then we'd all be happier.
