I happen to like the sub version of most of the anime that I enjoyed enough to watch more than once: there's something about not comprehending the language that makes the sounds condense into pure emotion for me. But there are certainly series where the dub is very good (most of Fruits Basket, Magic User's Club, Full Metal Panic, and the non-DiC version of Saint Seiya are four I can recall right off.)

If by "sub snob" you mean those who insist the sub is always better - well no, those people are pompous nozzles. IMO there is no "wrong" in matters of personal preference and taste, and civilized people ought to leave room for those who prefer a different set of voice acting.

However, sub snobs sometimes have a point. In at least a few cases that I know of, the dub came with aggressive content edits. To insist that the unedited anime is better is almost always a valid call, imo.
