Well it was a movie about American patriotism.

You really think so? I went into the movie expecting it to be like that and came out surprised (and pleased, ngl) at how much the patriotic elements were downplayed in favor of an emphasis on humanism.

Same here. One of the things that really made me fall in love with the movie and the character was that a superhero named "Captain America" wasn't depicted as an embodiment of U!S!A! hoo-rah jingoism.

Yup, me too.
I didn't go watch it in theaters because I expected it to be as bad as Hulk, and was pleasantly surprised when I finally saw it on TV.

Rogers was really a fool who turned out to do a good job and grow up past his naive dreams, and they show that. They also showed flaws of America while doing that.

Overall, I'd rank it behind Iron Man but way better than Avengers, when it comes to super-hero popcorn movie.

(By which I mean, titles for comic book movies mean exactly shit.)
