It's supposed to be perfect irony. The character of Captain America was made by Jewish creators, so him looking like the Aryan ideal was very deliberate - as a "Here's your Ubermensh! Right in your face!"

Ah, good. I had thought it might be something like that, given the portrayals. Given the shield and his ideals, it's very obvious Cap is meant to be a protector figure ... and, actually, maybe a touch of the golem? Given the way he was in some ways made ... Huh.
