...I don't really see why people are making such a fuss one way or the other tbh. IMO it wasn't anything special or particularly disastrous. I don't think there's enough of the series to judge accurately yet. (Okay, the one issue is out and yes you can judge that, but...it's just one issue. Who knows where it'll go from here.)

This is coming from someone who is expecting to feel very disappointed because of the lack of Cassie, Eli and Tommy, but...it's comics, and comics change their line-ups all the time.

As for what Billy did...yes, it was monumentally stupid.

(And Teddy is probably my favorite character, besides Kate. I love them pretty equally.)

I thought the Kate stuff was really good. Bad ass who has sex and doesn't judge herself for it? Hell yes.

And I don't get the hate for the Hulkling/Wiccan story, since it just started, but this is my first experience with most of these characters. The only reason I know who Kate is is because of the Hawkguy comic.

IDK why Kate having sex was such a huge deal in the first place, but I'm glad she seemed cool with it.

The current Hawkeye series is fantastic. As for the Hulkling/Wiccan stuff...I've read the other comics and still don't get why it's hated as much as it is. It was a bit melodramatic and the writing wasn't great, but...still, it's just one issue and most teens can be melodramatic at times. I'll wait to see where it goes before deciding if I love or hate it.

I loved Kate's scenes in the comic. And Loki...and Miss America...and Teddy.

Billy was the one I didn't like as much, but I can seem him as being a bit self-centered so it kind of worked too. I really miss Jonas and Cassie, and Tommy and Eli, but like you said line-ups change.

Though I would like to know why Eli was made off-limits.

Has anyone said for certain that Eli won't return? I haven't been following the news too closely, though I do remember hearing that they wouldn't touch him (maybe there's a period of time where he's off limits, but in the future there's a possibility he could return?). And Tommy...I have no idea why Tommy wasn't included, but again, maybe they just wanted fresh blood.

And I think Billy did come off as a bit self-centered but it was consistent to his characterization. Plus, again...people are flawed and he's an angsty teen, so that didn't throw me off.

I doubt he'll ever be included then. (Unless there's a change of mind, but that seems unlikely.)

Pretty much my stance on it. I loved Kate's bit - yay for cliche subversions! - and Loki's bit confused me a bit (probably because I don't read JiM) and I have no idea who the fuck Miss America is, but honestly, I still quite like it.

As I said, I have no passionate opinion one way or another, but we've been given very little so far and it's not much to go on.

I'm not sure what's going on with this Loki either because like you, I never read JiM. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

And I THINK Miss America is new. However, I don't read tons of comics so I could be wrong.

Well according to Iggy upthread, she appears in a six part comic called Vengeance, by Joe Casey, but even then there isn't much known about her, so she's almost new in that respect.

And apparently this kid!Loki isn't kid!Loki. Or something like that. o.O

Ah, I might have to see if I can find that. Or just read her wiki page...

We've had secrets about how this Loki is just regular Loki in kid!Loki body. ...Or something like that. I'm not sure if that's entirely true but that's what I've heard, yea. lol. Guess it'll make more sense when it's brought up in the comic.

Yeah, the best reaction I can muster for the whole thing is "meh". I mean, I wasn't really pumped up either way for the book to begin with but it definitely went in the once-read-and-quickly-forgotten pile. The Kate bits were nice (I'm finally starting to warm to her...) but past that I just didn't care.

I love Young Avengers but wasn't too excited about the new series either. I guess because there are very few comics that Marvel are releasing right now that people seem to actually like, so I didn't exactly have high hopes, and with half of the old team gone the prospect felt a bit empty to me.

But yea, IDK, I'll keep reading but right now I'm with you: on the fence about it.

Honestly the only thing I've been looking forward to from this Marvel NOW nonsense is Secret Avengers and I'm even iffy about that (which is just sad because, hey, everything I love in one book? I should be all over that!).

I think I'll save my money from something that actually gets a reaction from me. :\
