If you're still following the person who behaved badly because you like what she's doing online, as opposed to following her because that's what the kool kids do, that's perfectly reasonable and not skeevy at all, OP.

But you should be standing up for the person who you turned out to like, unless there's a damned good reason not to. Like a Hitler was kind to dogs but he's still Hitler kind of reason. It's the right thing to do, and besides, what do you have to lose? If people judge you for behaving like a decent human being, you're probably better off knowing that about them right now so you can dump them. But probably they won't, and you'll wind up with a better class of online friends.
