I fantasise about this sometimes too. I suck at day to day life, but I feel like I would be the shit when it came to surviving an apocalypse. Maybe I should join the army...

Me too except I always give myself abilities that I don't really have because there's no way I'd survive realistically.

Unless you were very lucky for a very long time, or have a set of truly impressive survival skills that for some reason you can't use to make a living/have fun with in day to day life, I'd imagine said less boring life would also be very short. Depending on the sort of zombie outbreak, you might die, then lose your capacity for boredom and end up chasing screaming people so you could eat their tasty tasty brains, though.
