The problem is that this advice is that it might prevent, like, ten percent or so of rapes, maybe, when the wind is southerly.
Yet it's nearly always presented as "if you dumb bitches wouldn't do these things, you wouldn't keep getting raped". Enormously few rapes happen on secluded alleys to provocatively dressed women.
