I have new neighbors, they're Hispanic. I'm already assuming their racist pieces of trash, simply because I have never had Hispanic neighbors that didn't verbally and physically harass me/disallow me from leaving my apartment from the front/thrown eggs at my windows or broken out the windows to my car.

Secret for obvious reasons. ;/

I grew up in a severely Hispanic-dominated area. I was one of two whites that went to my school. I caught the eye of the other one one day and I wondered if I looked as haunted as she did.

I was teased daily, put down by my whole class. I was stuck with the same group for years through school since we were put in an "advanced learning" class. Their favorite game seemed to be "pretend to be friends with the white girl and then trash and dump her at the most embarrassing possible moment". The teachers for the most part turned a blind eye. I walked to the bus stop down a dangerous alleyway because the only alternative was walking through a different schoolyard where I would get names and curses screamed at me while others threatened me physically. One girl actually grabbed me (when I was stupid enough to not get away) and she pried my eyes open after she "wanted to look at my eyes because they're weird". I yanked my face out of her hands and ran away. And that's just one example.

To this day, I find it hard to trust Hispanics. Until I get to know them, I'm always afraid. It doesn't help that I find when I drive/pass by random Hispanic men, they always stare holes through me. I've chalked it up to different culture, but it always scares me.

Long story short, I know what it's like to feel that way. I want to tell people about this but I hardly ever do, for obvious reasons ("so what you're still white and it was just your childhood get over it").

Ugh, this. There was this one nineteen year old Puerto Rican woman that would threaten to beat my twelve year old face in if she ever caught me outside. She'd yell things like "Salvation arm trash" at me, and other shit in Spanish when I was coming home from school. I used to live right next to the housing's basket ball court, and so the Hispanic residents would do shit like egg my windows, empty out trash bags onto my back steps, beat my metal door in with a basket ball, etc. I was twelve when a group of them chased me down and pelted me with rocks. I ended up getting hit straight in the eye with one and ended up getting Iritis from the trauma. I now have scaring in my left eye and cataracts in both eyes.

They also used to use what they called 'pea shooters'. It was the top of a tonic bottle sliced off with a balloon attached to the top. They'd use small rocks or hard, uncooked peas/beans and fire them at me. They hurt so bad. I was thirteen when one of the sixteen year olds punched me in the face for raising my hands up to my eyes when he jumped into my personal space. And for a few months I had to live with a family that would not allow me to enter my front door. They would stand right in front of it and spit at me, or call me filthy names.

It's still hard for me not to loathe people like them to this day, even though I know that isn't fair.

Wow. I'm really sorry you guys had to go through that. I can't quite relate to the behavior you describe, but for what it's worth, I believe you. Though, for personal reference, where did this happen?
