If you can't even tell the truth about someone who loaned you money, you really have no business taking their money. That pretty much puts you in the "user category IMO.

Nobody is saying the two have to become besties, or OP has to whiteknight her all the time. But just saying "I've met her, and she seemed really nice to me." is just telling the honest to god truth.
