I don't know if it has made me like short, stocky guys more but HOLY shit has it made me like hairy guys. Before the Hobbit, I was pretty grossed out by hairy chests. Now I am just like, "LET ME SEE IT! LET ME TOUCH IT! LET ME RUB IT!"

(Anonymous) 2013-02-13 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
This. More than the lightest amount of body hair on dudes has always been turn-off for me, but now I'm all, "GIVE IT TO ME."

(Anonymous) 2013-02-12 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
if he is a typical guy and you told him this i imagine his reaction would be to immediately quit shaving

(Anonymous) 2013-02-13 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'd go, "I wonder how you'd look with a beard. Probably even hotter than usual." There's a pretty good chance he'll try it. Unless he's not allowed to for work or something like that. (Maybe I just date to many actors, dammit. Their looks are always conditional to their role. :\)

I was hoping that hairy women would become a trend, since a few people were drawing female Dwarves but yeah that probably isn't going to happen.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-13 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
It would be nice. Not everyone feels like full body waxing so others will feel better about the world.

But the world of female dwarf art is divided between those that draw the lady dwarves rocking beards and those that don't, so I'm really not holding out much hope either since some people just can't handle the fact that lady dwarves have glorious beards.

I was reading The Dwarves by Markus Heitz and there's a bit where the guys are sitting around talking about ladies and how much they prefer sturdy, curvy ladies to keep one warm at night over the slender, graceful elvish ladies humans seem to adore.

Did more for my self esteem than every bullshit anonymous "everyone's perfect" meme on tumblr or secret on PostSecret or Katy Perry song. Good stuff.

Lawl, you might want to let your SO know that you have fantasies of him being your bearded love slave ... survey says he's probably not going to be all that horrified. :p

What's terrible about being super attracted to your husband? Get some!

LOL I told my husband he was a dwarf after seeing the images of the dwarves in this movie. Most of The Hobbit movieverse dwarves look more or less human to me aside from the ears and the stubby legs, like if they had longer legs they'd be typical human male height

I should also add that I hate it when my husband shaves his beard. He looks completely different and he's too babyfaced without one

a beard????
you MONSTER

(Anonymous) 2013-02-13 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
You should probably let your husband know you think a beard would look good on him.

It doesn't matter where you got the idea from. Movies inform peoples attractions all the time.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-13 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Except they want "short, stocky guys" who are all secretly 6'2".

Some of us like shorter guys. My bf is 5'7".

(Anonymous) 2013-02-13 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
Nope. I still prefer thin, 6ft'ers. Knowing that Richard Armitage is 6'2 does nothing to change my actual preference. Everyone in my family is short, so why should I date a short guy?

Also, I've always loved bearded dudes.

If your husband is like most guys I know, his reaction to being told that he'd look good with a beard would probably be to shove his razor under the sink and pretend it never existed. Most people don't like shaving very much and are happy to have an excuse to stop.

I'm not sure if I find them hotter now... I haven't thought about it. I've never found them unattractive though; height isn't a major factor in what attracts me to a person.

And I don't see what's so terrible about thinking your husband would look hotter with a beard. People like different things and that's okay!

Like most people have said, I bet he'd give it a try if you mention it. (Even if he didn't, I doubt he would take offense.)

Edited to add this art is glorious and I want to make love to it.

The weird thing is, for me, that I remember seeing Kili on the posters and thinking I'd be all over that once the movie comes out. Now I kind of find him too boring, hairless, skinny, etc... :) Thorin, Dwalin, and Bofur, though...

Now all I want is for some lovely, short, stocky, hairy Dwarf women to make an impression. Forever pressed that we get another ethereal-looking elf woman when we could have Dís.

I kind of already know I prefer stocky guys to lanky guys, but having them be curly-haired and pretty-eyed is a really, really good combo in my head. Me being attracted to the dwarves in the film was soooo inevitable. u____u;

Haha, love this secret. I'm married to a tall guy, but he's very barrel-chested, hairy, and has a beard. We went to see The Hobbit together, and we're probably going again for Valentine's Day. :D

P.S. Husband wishes to applaud any increase in Beard Love as a result of this movie.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-13 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
I think a lot of guys without beards secretly wonder how they'd look with one. If you dropped the hint that you think beards are hot, he'd probably give it a try.
