The monster really WAS terrible, but I overlook that for the lovely Van Gogh parts. I'm with most on this one, it made me cry.

Wasn't the monster meant to be an allegory on depression (only Vincent could see it)? I thought it was pretty clever.

Also, I don't think Murray Gold has ever written anything as beautiful as "With Love, From Vincent" (the song playing when Amy finds her name on the sunflower painting) for Doctor Who. I cried, too, when that song came on.

Maybe it was supposed to be, but I thought it was just awkward... I usually fast-forward through those parts of the episode.

That song is one of my most played songs on itunes :)

As an artist this one broke me. I always cry when I watch it and it's my favourite of the 11th Dr. episodes. Yes, the monster is rather stupid but the rest just resonates with me so deeply.
