Oh god, That. And the Dark Is Rising movie, which IIRC didn't even get called DiR in the end. Seeker? something like that. For me it's a toss-up.

Filmmakers: destroying my childhood since forever.

It got called The Seeker because poor Susan Cooper didn't want her original title attached to that travesty. And I don't blame her!

I take the same comfort with this that I take from The Last Airbender: At least it was so bad there won't be any fucking sequels. The overall bad would have been far worse.

Shush. Do not mention "The movie that wasn't". If we all deny It's existance, maybe It will cease existing.

(It was borderline heartbreaking watching a talk by Susan Cooper where she basically said she was very overwhelmed by the reactions of fan of her books all hating the movie so much because she did too, and it was especially hard for her because the director was someone she apparently trusted.)

The only good thing about The Movie That Wasn'T is that it very surely won't get any sequels, so they won't have a chance to butcher Bran as well.
