I think that's hilarious and it makes me want to create my own covers for classic novels, for example, Wilfred Owen and a field of poppies on the cover of War and Peace.

I've never read Anne of Green Gables, but I am a little surprised to learn that she is apparently Taylor Swift.

Related-in-a-similar way, post-Twilight, everyone kept rushing to make book covers look like Twilight. The worst offenders were Pride and Prejudice and, of all freaking things, a CS Lewis book. No.

Or what about the cover for Sylvia Plath's "The Bell Jar".
It's done in a retro, "chick-flick" style.

I kind of feel sorry for all the readers who will pick it up expecting some light summer fluff, only to be confronted with buckets of angst.

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. Not only do you have a blonde portraying one of literature's most famous redheads, but she's also wearing a very modern-looking plaid shirt. Why not show a scene where Anne's riding in a Ford Focus to Green Gables, or maybe a scene where Matthew buys her a new MiuMiu dress to wear to the concert? ARRGHHHH WHAT'S THE POINT OF ANYTHING ANYMORE.
