Ah, also it seems that Poirot fans dislike The Orient Express. It is one of my favourite episodes ever. IDK what to think.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-13 02:24 am (UTC)(link)In any case, I think it is worse than the original. Now, don't get me wrong--I think the hate for it is overblown. And I feel like punching anyone who posts that goddamn Red Letter Media twenty hour review thing in the eye. Seriously. His points are funny, but a lot of them are very poor.
Anyhow--a lot of the love from the originals comes from the fact is was unique then. It didn't really introduce too many concepts, but it definitely popularized them and brought a lot of them together. Princess Leia made today would have been sexist as hell, but back then it was an incredible surprise to see a beautiful princess character snark at the hero.
The prequels were just completely done.
